Note: John Counter captured this photo in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. The picture gives a feeling of relaxation with the mist and color. I love how the background fades off into nothing, leaving your imagination to fill in the gap of what the other side of the lake might look like or how large it is. The subtle boat in the distance adds another element of interest and depth to the photo. Excellent photo!

Tip: Shooting in the early mornings can often be a good time to capture the low ambient lighting with fog. Check your forecast for the temperature and dew point to be within a few degrees from each other. Weather forecasts don’t always discuss dewpoints, but there are some other events that can spark some fog (wiki).
