Note: Ben Visbeek captured this excellent landscape in the Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria. A view on the lush green Alpine meadow next to the Lechnerhausl Gasthaus. In the background, the snowy peaks of the High Sonnblick or Rauriser Sonnblick can be seen, which is the famous three peaks of the Austrian Alps. I love the small subtle capture of the bird in the left corner. Excellent landscape and capture by Ben.

Tip: Longer shadows add another element of interest to this photo.  There are a few helpful iPhone apps that can help determine which direction the sun will be shining from.  One particular one I use is Sun Seeker ($4.99 – iTunes link).  They also have a free light version that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, but can still give you some valuable info (free – iTunes link).
