Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Amazon)
Focal Length: 24mm
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO/Film: 400
Shutter Speed: 1/20 sec

Note: John Counter captured this photo in a Montreal subway station. The picture depicts the fast paced environment that you see in the underground environment. Dramatic subway lighting adds depth and nice reflections off the subway car. Excellent street photography capture!

Tip: John used a shutter speed (wiki) of 1/20 of a second to allow the subway car to have motion and show movement. When using a slow shutter speed, eg. 1/20 of a second, it’s good to use a tripod. When shooting street style photography, you may not have the luxury of carrying a tripod all day. You can use tips like the DIY “washer” technique or lean against a wall to eliminate movement in your shot.
