Note: Adhemar Duro took this timelapse photo in Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The photo was taken at the right time of the night. By capturing this photo during the last stages of a sunset and the beginning stages of the night, allows for the two shades in the sky.  The reflection on the water adds nice symmetry to the photography.  The green city lights add interest and creates nice light rays when shot with the time-lapse technique. Adhemar took two exposures and stacked them to create this beautiful piece of work.

Tip: When shooting time lapses, it’s key to close your aperture to increase sharpness in distance objects in your photo. The shutter speed (exposure) of 18 minutes allowed for the streaking stars across the skyline and the two shades of the sky to blend together. He started his exposure near sunset and it ended when night had arrived.  A tripod is needed to achieve this effect.
