Note: Nikolai Zinoviev captured this photo of a family of sleeping lions in Tanzania, Africa. It’s so awesome to see such powerful animals show such affection. The little cub lion is using his mother as a pillow. One of the other cubs almost seems to be envious of its sibling. The low angle, nice depth of field and great detail only add to this great moment in the wild to capture. Superb shot!

Tip: Nikolai used a shutter speed (exposure) of 1/400 of a second which allowed for him to have such clear detail in his photo. When shooting with a zoom lens, it’s important to have a higher shutter speed to avoid blurriness if the lighting will allow. You can always increase your film speed (ISO) to allow more light in, but don’t go to high or you might end up with some unwanted grains in your photograph.
