Camera: Canon 450D (Amazon)
Focal Length: 105mm
Aperture: f/22
ISO/Film: 100
Shutter Speed: 3/10 sec

Note: Vincent James captured this golden sun beam in Big Sur, California. Big Sur is a region where the St. Lucia Mountains rise up from the Ocean. The terrain offers stunning views, making Big Sur a very popular tourist destination and photography spot. The golden beam shining through the dark opening is stunning. Excellent capture by Vincent!

Tip: Vincent’s shutter speed (wiki) of 3/10 of a second allowed for the ocean water to have some movement. It also allowed for more light into the camera because of the higher aperture value used (smaller hole), which lets less light into the camera. By choosing a higher aperture, it ensures that more of your photo is in focus with a low depth of field.
