Hide in the dark

Date: 2012

Camera: Nikon D7000 (Amazon)
Focal Length: 11mm
Shutter Speed: 25 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO/Film: 320

Note: Max Polazov took this photo on the metro tracks in Moscow, Russia. The grungy rust stains are highlighted so well and adds such great beauty to the photo. The man that is “hiding” has a very nice highlight shadow along his side, showing off great detail. Very nice capture by Max Polazov.

Tip: A shutter speed (wiki) of 25 seconds, allowed for more light to come into the camera to expose the dark areas of the photograph. With longer exposures, your subject has to remain absolutely still or you could have a blurry subject. Max also increased his camera’s sensitivity to light by increasing the film speed (wiki) to 320 to allow just a little bit more light into the camera.
