Location: Grand Canyon, Arizona
Date: 2011

Camera: Canon EOS 5D
Focal Length: 20mm
Aperature: f/4
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1500 sec (25 min)

Note: Dan Ransom took this photo of a storm above the Grand Canyons in Arizona. The Grand Canyon provides stunning views as it is, but to capture the intensity of an approaching storm makes this an excellent shot. Dan left his shutter (exposure) open for 1500 seconds to capture all the lighting strikes within that time frame, resulting in a fury of electricity in the distance.

Tip: Use a tripod when taking longer exposed shots and to avoid blurriness. Also keep the ISO (Film Speed) at its lowest setting to eliminate any noise in your image. By keeping the shutter open for a longer period of time, enough light will be let in to properly expose your photo.
