Note: Gunnar Gestur Geirmundsson took this photo of a lighthouse in Reykjanes, Iceland. The Aurora Borealis can be seen glowing in the dark sky above the lighthouse. The Aurora Borealis is one of nature’s most beautiful light shows and when captured on camera is truly stunning. I love how Gunnar took this composition to the next level by giving the illusion that the light show is appearing to be emitting from the lighthouse. The nice subtle orange glow in the sky and around the lighthouse adds a nice focal point to the composition.  Very nice capture!

Tip: The (ISO) film speed was increased to 1600 to allow more light into the camera because Gunnar was using a fairly quick shutter for a nigh shot (2.5 secs).  He needed to increase the ISO in order to properly expose the photo.
