Note: Peter Fauland captured this shot of an abandoned warehouse in early 2011. The natural lighting through the windows fill the room with ambient light, setting the eerie mood. The room has a great amount of detail which is displayed in the photo.

Tip: Abandoned places are always cool to shoot, but don’t expect to walk through an abandoned factory and have a bunch of sweet photos. Planning your shots is key when entering a room or a section of a building. When you want to take a picture, wait a minute and think how you can make it better. Is the natural lighting what you want? Is the angle interesting?
